The Pink-Striped Oakworm Moth is admired for its warm, understated beauty: soft tan wings washed with rosy tones, accented by subtle markings that glow in the right light. Its caterpillars, however, are striking in their own right—boldly patterned and closely tied to oak species across the southeastern United States. Among their preferred hosts is the Southern Red Oak, a classic tree of dry upland forests known for its deeply lobed leaves, russet fall color, and ecological importance. The oak provides essential nourishment for the moth’s larval stage, completing a quiet but vital woodland relationship.

Two paper options are available:
